Facebook owned WhatsApp got end-to-end encryption back in April this year, and now, the company has brought the same feature to its standalone messaging app Messenger.
Here is how you enable Secret Conversations in Facebook Messenger
How to Start Secret Conversations on Facebook Messenger
• Update the Facebook Messenger app if you don't have the most recent version
• Tap the 'i' icon in the top-right of the screen
• Select Secret Conversation from the list
• Click "OK" to get started
• Tap the 'i' icon in the top-right of the screen
• Select Secret Conversation from the list
• Click "OK" to get started
• Then Choose 'Turn On'
The feature also allows senders to send messages with a Snapchat-style expiration time ranging from five seconds to one day.
It's pretty easy and so it should be. One thing to note is You can change the device (ex: phone, tablet) you use for secret conversations. When you send a secret message to someone, it's only visible on the device you send it from and the device the recipient opens it on.
To change which device you use for secret conversations, just start a new secret conversation from the new device.
Note: When you change devices, previous secret conversations will no longer be visible on your old device or your new device.
